Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation

The Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation is a registered environmental charity working to help protect and conserve the lands and waters of the valley of the Rideau River in Eastern Ontario.

The Conservation Foundation builds partnerships and seeks new individuals, corporations and groups wanting to get involved in the vital work of taking care of our own natural environment.

The Foundation is run by a volunteer Board of Directors drawn from many walks of life within the valley. The Board places a high value on our relationship with our donors, particularly in terms of transparency and accountability. We are proud members of Imagine Canada's Ethical Code Program, which lays out a set of standards for charitable organizations to manage and report their finHOPEancial affairs responsibly.

The Conservation Foundation was founded in 1970 and revitalized in 2001 with updated direction, by-laws and strategy. The Foundation works closely with many environmental and like-minded partners and colleagues working in the Rideau Valley watershed including the Friends of Baxter Conservation Area, Friends of Foley Mountain, Friends of the Jock River, Friends of the Tay Watershed, the Ottawa Stewardship Council and the Rideau Valley Field Naturalists.

The Foundation's biggest supporter is the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority which provides office space and staff, lends expertise to many of the Foundation's environmental projects and manages all of its cosnervation lands.
